Defensively, the Chargers were paced by safety Derwin James, who had an overall PFF defense grade of 81.3.

James led all Chargers defenders with five solo tackles and added two quarterback hits and a tackle for loss.

3. How do the Chargers stack up in the AFC West?

The Chargers are obviously 1-0, but perhaps even more important is the fact that they are already 1-0 in division play, too.

That’s noteworthy because aside from the Chiefs, the rest of the teams in the AFC West earned a Week 1 win.

And while there is certainly a long, long way to go this season, the fact that the Chargers, Raiders and Broncos started 1-0 and the Chiefs did not is pretty rare.

In fact, Week 1 marked the first time since division realignment in 2002 that Chiefs started the season 0-1 and the other three AFC West teams all won their opener.

Overall, the Chargers were one of eight teams in the AFC to win during Week 1.
