JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars are thinning out their running back room, trading Tank Bigsby to the Eagles on Monday night.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jacksonville is getting fifth- and sixth-round picks from the Eagles to acquire Bigsby. According to ESPN’s Mike DiRocco, that fifth-round pick could become a fourth-rounder if edge Bryce Huff tallies eight sacks this year. The Eagles traded Huff to San Francisco over the summer for a fifth-round pick. If Huff hits that milestone, the deal for Huff escalates the fifth to a fourth, and the Jaguars would receive that selection.
Bigsby led the team in rushing last year (168 carries, 766 yards, 7 TDs) but became the odd man out in Jacksonville’s back rotation this year. Travis Etienne came out of camp as the team’s No. 1 back, and the Jaguars drafted Bhayshul Tuten and Le’Quint Allen in last April’s draft. Bigsby rushed for just 12 yards on five carries in Sunday’s Week 1 win over the Panthers.
Bigsby was a third-round pick out of Auburn in 2023. He has rushed for 910 yards and nine touchdowns in his career.
