This past weekend, the 2025 NFL season officially began for all 32 of the league’s teams, which meant that many of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s former players at the professional level were in action once again.
During Week 1, Alabama saw many of the program’s top former players from a year ago make an impact once again, while a few others, such as the Crimson Tide’s rookies, made their anticipated NFL debuts.
When looking at that group altogether though, just which former Alabama players were among the top performers in Week 1?
Here is a look at five former Alabama football players who were among the top performing Crimson Tide stars during Week 1 of the 2025 season.
Derrick Henry, Running Back – Baltimore Ravens
Henry was likely Alabama’s top performance during Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, rushing for 169 yards and two touchdowns on 18 attempts. Despite fumbling once, Henry also added a reception for 13 yards to that stat line, with his longest run going for a 49 yards.
Jordan Battle, Safety – Cincinnati Bengals
Battle had a memorable showing in Cincinnati’s 17-16 road win over the Cleveland Browns, leading the Bengals with 12 total tackles, five of which were solo. The Bengals safety also had one interception, as well as a pass defense.
Jalen Hurts, Quarterback – Philadelphia Eagles
Hurts was a major factor behind Philadelphia’s 24-20 home win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, as the former Alabama quarterback rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts. The former Alabama signal caller also completed 19-of-23 passes for 152 yards, owning a QBR of 94 and a passer rating of 94.2.
Will Anderson Jr., Defensive End – Houston Texans
Anderson stuffed the stat sheet during Houston’s 14-9 road loss against the Los Angeles Rams. The defensive end finished the game with four tackles, one sack, three TFL, and two quarterback hits.
Henry To’oTo’o, Inside Linebacker – Houston Texans
The Texans defense also had another notable Alabama performance during Sunday’s 14-9 loss to the Rams at the inside linebacker position in To’oTo’o. To’oTo’o ended the game with six tackles, two of which were solo, along with one sack, one TFL, one pass defense, and one quarterback hit.
