1. Scanlon, Nowakowski file new lawsuit against Buffalo comptroller

The suit is an effort to get a court order that would force Miller-Williams to sell Buffalo’s capital budget bonds to support Scanlon’s $110 million capital project budget. He said Miller-Williams is overstepping her bounds as the city’s financial advisor by refusing.

2. Workers at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo vote to authorize potential strike

Workers at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo have voted to authorize a strike if contract negotiations stall. The union representing these workers, CWA 1133 and 1168, said more than 90% of the staff voted in favor of striking. In a statement, Catholic Health said that both side returned to the bargaining table Tuesday.

3. Bills fan who shoved Baltimore Ravens stars banned indefinitely from NFL stadiums

According to ESPN, the Bills fan who shoved Ravens players Lamar Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins has been indefinitely banned from all NFL stadiums. The fan was ejected by stadium security.

4. New funding for Spectrum Health and Human Services to rebuild after 2022 blizzard

A total of $4 million from the state assembly will help with repairs and renovations of its headquarters at 1280 Main Street in Buffalo that was damaged during the 2022 Christmas Eve blizzard.

6. N.Y. may be paying Medicaid premiums for people living out of state, comptroller’s audit says

Nearly $1.2 billion in managed Medicaid premiums were paid for members who may have resided outside of New York, according to an audit released Tuesday by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s office.
