The Eagles added to their linebacker room with their second pick of the fifth round, selecting Smael Mondon out of Georgia with the 161st overall pick.

Mondon (6-2, 224 pounds) brings another Georgia Bulldog to Philadelphia.

“This is a blessing. It’s a dream come true,” Mondon said in his first press conference as an Eagle.

“He’s explosive. He is really a fast mover, space is his friend. We’ve talked a lot this weekend about this game, it’s really a speed game and he’s another guy who plays really well in space. Obviously, been coached exceptionally well. And it was a very easy pick for us at that time. He just stood out on the board,” Executive Vice President/General Manager Howie Roseman.

The linebacker led the National Champions with 76 tackles in 2022 en route to winning back-to-back titles.

Mondon had 57 tackles in 10 games to go along with three sacks in 2024 for the Bulldogs.
