NFL fans are convinced the league is “fixed” after Dallas Cowboys fans noticed how Micah Parsons has been officiated after the star was traded to the Packers in Green Bay’s 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders.
In one of the more shocking moves of the offseason, the Cowboys dealt Parsons to the Packers after contract negotiations between the two sides broke down. Heading to Dallas were two first-round picks in 2026 and 2027, and defensive tackle Kenny Clark, a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
And as Cowboys fans were watching how Parsons was being officiated, many came to the same conclusion: That the NFL was conspiring against Dallas. Their assumptions came after Packers star Jayden Reed was ruled out of the game with a shoulder injury.
On X, Marcus Mosher noted that Parsons had “drawn more penalties” against the Commanders than he did during the entirety of the 2023 season, when he played for the Cowboys.
Another poster on Reddit wrote: “Micah has as many holding calls with the Packers in about 1 full game worth of snaps than he did in a full season with the Cowboys LOL. The NFL vs Cowboys bias is a REAL thing. TWO HOLDING CALLS in 6 quarters as a Packers vs ‘Micah Parsons has gone 38 consecutive quarters without drawing a holding penalty.'”
Fans on X quickly expressed their thoughts on the observation, with one fan writing, “Man, this is actually so sad that the NFL does this…”
Another added, “You can’t convince me the NFL isn’t fixed.” A third wrote, “League/refs hate the Cowboys. They haven’t been treated fairly for 10 years plus.”
Other fans claimed that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had an agenda against the Cowboys, specifically against Jerry Jones, the owner and general manager of the team. “Goodell hates Jerry,” a fan wrote simply, while another chimed in: “He drew alot in Dallas they just didn’t get called. Goodell likes Green Bay. Hates Jerry.”
For Parsons, not only is he supposedly getting more calls, but he is also experiencing a new start with the Packers after his relationship with the Cowboys devolved to the point of toxicity.
Don’t Miss
Speaking to The Athletic, Parsons gave an insight into how the last half year had gone for him, especially as the negotiations between his representation and the team that drafted him fell apart.
“I’m telling you these last six months was super draining, super toxic for everyone,” Parsons recalled [h/t NBC Sports]. “It’s something that I don’t think no player should have to go through. I think players’ fates should be decided earlier. I think the fact that I was traded a week before the season was really outrageous and rough.
“It’s something where I could’ve been with these guys getting better and better and we could’ve had probably [an] even more dominant start if that was the decision we were going to make. I’m just happy that’s behind. These guys embraced me. They believe in my talents.
“They believed in me, and I’m just going to give these guys everything I have because I know what’s at stake and I know what they gave up for me to be here, and I’m going to do what it takes for us to win.”
