Prepare yourselves, Steelers fans — the home opener against the Seattle Seahawks is finally here.

Following the exciting 34-32 victory over the New York Jets on the road last Sunday,, Pittsburgh is set to make a splash at Acrisure Stadium — and these three Steelers on defense are the players to watch in Week 2.

CB Brandin Echols

Following Joey Porter Jr. being ruled out versus Seattle in Week 2, Echols should see far more coverage snaps on defense — and Seahawks WRs Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp will more than put his talents to the test.

S Jabrill Peppers

DeShon Elliott’s injury left Pittsburgh with a massive hole at safety — which was already suspect entering the season following the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade. Luckily, the Steelers signed a perfect replacement: the ever-versatile Jabrill Peppers, who might’ve been the missing piece on an otherwise Super Bowl-caliber defense.

LB Payton Wilson

After struggling to stop the Jets’ rushing attack last Sunday, pressure is beginning to build on the self-proclaimed best coverage linebacker. Expect Wilson to put the run-defense criticisms to bed against the Seahawks’ two-headed running back monster in Week 2.
