The Kansas City Chiefs return to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday for Sunday’s crucial Week 2 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster spoke with reporters on Friday, expressing his thoughts on the incredible pass play connection with Patrick Mahomes last week and gauging the receivers’ room ahead of this Sunday’s game.

“I mean, it’s pretty impressive, I would say on his (Patrick Mahomes) end, to see that, especially when there’s so much chaos. You’re getting guys that’s in off the end, they’re forcing you down the middle (and) you have guys running at you,” said Smith-Schuster, “I think it’s more impressive to see him do something like that than me just standing there catching the ball, you guys have seen that numerous times. But I think with him, it’s always pretty cool to see him do something like that.”

Smith-Schuster contributed five receptions for 55 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. The veteran receiver believes the offense will get back on track ahead of their matchup with the Eagles.

“I mean, as a whole, I mean, we’re expecting to just go out and start fast, especially as an offense. I feel like last week; it was one of those that kind of started off slow and in the second half we pick(ed) it up,” said Smith-Schuster, “I think coming into the game with the guys that we do have, it’s just go out there and play for each other. We talk about just coming out and just playing for each other. That’s what it’s all about. Let’s stop the self-inflicted wounds and just go out there, have fun (and) play ball – something that we’re known to do.”

The veteran wide receiver continues to serve as the leader of the position group, a title given to him by head coach Andy Reid.
