The UW-La Crosse Eagles began their 2025 campaign on the road taking on Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. 

The Eagles entered the matchup ranked 9th while CMU entered ranked 17. 

Early in the game, UWL would march down the field scoring on a Kyle Haas to Gabe Lynch touchdown pass to put the Eagles up 7-0. 

In the second quarter, UWL would have a field goal blocked, then two plays later CMU would score on a 75 yard touchdown pass. 

With 34 seconds left in the half, Lynch would take a handoff 11 yards in for another touchdown to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead at the half. 

In the third quarter, UWL would turn it on scoring on a 41 yard interception return to give them a 24-7 lead. 

The Eagles would score two more touchdowns going on to win 38-14. 

Quaterback Kyle Haas would go 24 of 32 passing for 272 yards and three touchdowns. 

Gabe Lynch would rush the ball 18 times for 76 yards and a touchdown. He would also catch two passes for nine yards and a touchdown. 

Jake Janke would catch 7 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. 

25 different UWL defenders would record at least one tackle. 

UW-La Crosse will host Wayne State University for their home opener on Saturday, September 20th.
