Phoebe Schecter has backed the Philadelphia Eagles to repeat history at this year’s Super Bowl, with the Kansas City Chiefs tipped to miss the biggest game in the NFL season.

The Eagles piled the misery on the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, smashing 34 points past the favorites by the third quarter. Patrick Mahomes eventually got on the scoreboard just before the fourth quarter began, but it was too little too late as Philadelphia ran out 40-22 winners.

NFL expert and regular Sky Sports pundit Schecter has tipped the Eagles to go all the way once again in 2025, with the Baltimore Ravens warned that their playoff run will be “critical” if they want to join the NFC East team in the quest for a Lombardi.

With Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills edging out the Ravens in a 16-point comeback win in week one, the AFC North team are already starting out at a disadvantage. However, Schecter is adamant these two squads are the ones to watch this campaign, as she shared her Super Bowl LX predictions with Mirror US.

Schecter said: “I think it’s hard to really ignore the Eagles and what they’ve done in this offseason. I mean, we said a little bit last year about the Ravens, actually, where they weren’t really shy of anything, right?

“They didn’t necessarily need any gaps filled. And so what they’ve been able to do is come back and strengthen and strengthen on top of what they already had. And Lamar pretty much had an MVP year last year.

“So I don’t see that, you know, they’ve brought back pretty much the same cast of players. So I see a very similar outcome for the Ravens. I just think that if they can get that push through the playoffs, that will be critical to them.

“So Jalen Hurts with the Eagles, and then the Ravens would be the other team who I was thinking would be really fascinating to be able to get to the Super Bowl, to be honest.”

The popular commentator, who spent a year interning as a coach with the Buffalo Bills in 2018, also backed her former team to make it to their first Super Bowl with Allen. Naming the other Lombardi contenders, Schecter added: “And obviously, I want the Bills to be there.

“They’ll always be in my heart, and I think that they have the possibility. There are just a few teams now that are almost like in this window where it’s Super Bowl or bust, essentially.

“And I think the Ravens are there, the Bills are a little bit there, the [Cincinnati] Bengals, they’ve got to figure it out defensively. The Eagles, I think, are more than capable of being back in the Super Bowl, and the NFC is always a fascinating place.”

When questioned on potential underdogs for the current 2025 season, Schecter named the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and even the Los Angeles Rams. She added: “I think what I’m looking forward to is what do the Lions look like now? Where they’ve got a brand new coaching staff, essentially.

“How do the Vikings figure it out as well? And then from a Bears perspective, Caleb Williams, who is he going to be this season, you know, with this genius at head coach and kind of play calling? So there’s a lot of really exciting ones.

“The ones I don’t want to neglect are the Rams. I think they could be a sneaky underdog. I think what Sean McVay does, how he knows how to operate, and the depth that he’s built into his roster, I think, makes it super fascinating.

“And of course, you’ve got a quarterback who’s been there, done that, literally got the T-shirt. So, yeah, it’s going to be a spicy season again.”

So far, the Vikings, Bills, Rams, Bengals and Eagles are 1-0, with the Chiefs, Ravens and Bears all starting the year on a loss. However, as Schecter points out, there will be plenty of twists and turns before the postseason kicks off in January.
