The Micah Parsons trade to the Green Bay Packers shocked the NFL world and there’s a chance that it could have involved the New York Jets.
The Dallas Cowboys failed to reach an agreement with Parsons on a new contract. That led to Parsons being traded to the Packers.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed there were talks with the Jets about a deal, but they never really got off the ground.
Jones spoke to ESPN radio in New York and said he wanted Quinnen Williams in return but New York did not want to agree to sending out their star defensive tackle in a deal.
“A prerequisite to the entire trade was that we had to have right now a really frankly significantly dominant inside defensive player. Which was our goal to address the run more than we had been addressing it the previous four years … That was a prerequisite. You didn’t get into the mentality of my trading if you didn’t have that coming through the door,” Jones said.
While Parsons is a generational talent, it is extremely hard to find a pass-rushing force in the middle of the defensive line like the Jets have in Williams. Having Williams and Parsons together would have been a dynamic duo, but it’s understandable that New York would not want Parsons without Williams alongside him.
