Tennessee Titans 2025 NFL Draft recap

  • April 27, 2025

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – There are nine newly drafted rookies getting ready to wear the Titans’ two-tone blue.

See below for draft details, quotes and bio information for each pick.

Round 1, #1 overall: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

Ward is 6′2″ and 219 pounds, hailing from West Columbia, Texas. His nickname is “C-Boogie.” Ward was a zero-star recruit coming out of high school and committed to Incarnate Word, the only Div. I school to extend him an offer. He later transferred to Washington State and then played his final season of college football at the University of Miami (FL).

In his 2024 season at Miami, Ward completed 305 of 454 passes for a 67% completion rate and threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist, the Davey O’Brien Award winner, and the ACC Player of the Year. Ward is the first player the franchise has selected No. 1 overall since the Houston Oilers drafted Earl Campbell in 1978.

In Ward’s introductory press conference Friday, Pro Football Hall of Famer and Oilers great Warren Moon surprised Ward and gave his blessing for the rookie quarterback to wear his previously-retired No. 1 jersey.

Moon surprised Ward at his debut presser by showing up to pass the number on to the new Titan quarterback.

Round 2, #52 overall: Oluwafemi Oladejo, OLB, UCLA

Oladejo is 6′3″ and 259 pounds. He is an inside linebacker-turned-edge rusher from Sacramento, California. Oladejo played two seasons at California before transferring for his final two seasons at UCLA. His nickname is “Femi.”

In the 2024 season, Oladejo had 57 combined tackles in 12 games, including 14 tackles for loss. He also played basketball and ran track in high school.

“They see me as a 3-4 outside linebacker,” Oladejo said of the Titans’ desired role for him. “Come and help the team immediately, whether it’s through special teams, rotational player, and just being a guy that can produce and help the team win.”

Round 3, #82 overall: Kevin Winston Jr., DB, Penn State

Winston Jr. is a 6′2,” 208-pound safety from Cheverly, Maryland. He played college football at Penn State, enjoying a standout sophomore season before suffering an ACL injury in the opening weeks of his junior season with the Nittany Lions. In his sophomore campaign, Winston Jr. posted 61 tackles, three for loss, and one interception.

“My knee, everything’s looking great,” Winston Jr. said. “I’ve been doing rehab, rehab’s been going well. I’m on track, even a bit ahead of what I was doing as I was able to run my 40 (yard dash) at Pro Day, but everything’s looking great and I’m feeling amazing.”

Round 4, #103 overall: Chimere Dike, WR, Florida

Dike is 6′1″ and 196 pounds, native to Waukesha, Wisconsin. His nickname is “Chim.” He played four seasons at Wisconsin before transferring to Florida. In his 2024 season as a Gator, he had 42 receptions for 783 yards and two touchdowns. He was a team captain in his lone season at Florida and earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors.

“I moved around a lot in college,” Dike said of his dynamic nature as a wide receiver. “I think that my versatility is something that a lot of teams liked. I played X, slot and Z. So just being able to bring that to the table, but like I said, whatever they asked me to do, I’m willing to do it and I’m going do it to the best of my ability.”

Round 4, #120 overall: Gunnar Helm, TE, Texas

Helm is a 6′2,” 206-pound tight end from Greenwood Village, Colorado. He saw 25 starts in 54 games over four years at the University of Texas. Helm enjoyed a breakout senior season in which he had 60 receptions for 786 yards and seven touchdowns. He was college teammates with current Titans defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat.

“Oh yeah, it’s going to be great,” Helm said on reuniting with Sweat in Tennessee. “Super excited. Obviously loved Sweat when he was at the University of Texas with me, had a great connection with him. We were buddies off the field too, so just being back in that realm with him is going to be super cool.”

Round 4, #136 overall: Elic Ayomanor, WR, Stanford

Ayomanor is 6′2″ and 206 pounds, hailing from Medicine Hat, Alberta in Canada. His name is pronounced EL-ick EYE-oh-man-er.

He redshirted in his first year at Stanford and went on to be a key offensive piece for the Cardinal for the next two seasons. Ayomanor posted 1,013 receiving yards on 62 catches along with six touchdowns in his first year of action in 2023 as a redshirt freshman. In 2024, he caught 63 passes for 831 yards and six touchdowns. Ayomanor played against Titans first overall pick Cam Ward in college.

“He (Ward) texted me right after I got the call,” Ayomanor said. “I’m very excited. He was the number one pick in the draft for a reason. I played against him when he was at Washington State. He gave our defense a lot of trouble, and they went through a lot to gameplan for him. I’m very excited to be able to have the opportunity to play with him and practice with him.”

Round 5, #167 overall: Jackson Slater, OL, Sacramento State

Slater is a 6′3″ and 311-pound guard from Bellevue, Washington. He has versatility on the offensive line between playing guard or center. In four seasons at Sacramento State, Slater enjoyed various Big Sky honors. In his senior season last fall, he did not allow a sack of quarterback hit. Slater also played in the East-West Shrine Game.

“I think being a versatile guy is a big part of my game and being able to fix problems when problems arise,” Slater said. “I think that a big job of offensive line is being able to adapt and do a lot of different things as well as I think my athleticism shows a lot and looking forward to showing that on tape, for sure.”

Round 6, #183 overall: Marcus Harris, CB, California

Harris is a 5′11,″ 188-pound cornerback from Portland, Oregon. He played college football at Oregon State, Idaho, and then California. In his senior season at Cal, Harris had 46 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, and two interceptions. He also ran track and played basketball in high school.

“For my size, I’m a really physical corner, defensive back,” Harris said of his fit in Dennard Wilson’s defense. “I don’t have a problem tackling in the run game, coming up and tackling the tight end, so I think I’ll fit in very well with these guys.”

Round 6, #188 overall: Kalel Mullings, RB, Michigan

Mullings is a 6′2,″ 226-pound linebacker-turned-running back. He is from Boston, Massachusetts and attended the University of Michigan. He has known current Titans outside linebacker Jaylen Harrell since high school and played at Michigan with him.

“I see myself as a very physical runner that’s willing to earn and gain every yard I possibly can, but at the same time, I see myself as very versatile,” Mullings said. “I feel like I offer a lot in terms of pass blocking, catching out of the backfield as well, and definitely my hallmark, though, is that physicality and breaking tackles, running people over.”
