The Buffalo Bills completed a dramatic comeback last week against the Baltimore Ravens.
But early in Week 2, Josh Allen delivered a different kind of comeback.
After a short run against the New York Jets, Allen came to the sideline while Mitchell Trubisky came into the game. Medical personnel were seen working on Allen’s face and nose, as the quarterback may have been hit in the face on the short run.

Trubisky completed his first pass in the game, connecting with Josh Palmer on 3rd-and-7 for a 32-yard gain on a crossing route to give the Bills a fresh set of downs. After a short run from Ty Johnson on the next play the first quarter ended, giving Bills trainers more time to work on Allen.

When the second quarter resumed, Allen was indeed back on the field, with some gauze in his left nostril. Tracy Wolfson reported on the CBS Sports broadcast that the quarterback was bleeding “profusely” from his nose after the play:
Allen directed a field goal drive after returning to the game, as Matt Prater converted a 52-yard field goal to give the Bills a 13-0 lead over the Jets.
