Parker Romo went 5-for-5 in place of Younghoe Koo on Sunday night.
Raheem Morris: Nothing new on AJ Terrell (hamstring). I’ll have better information when we start practice. #Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons put kicker Parker Romo to the test in Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. The offense failed to score a touchdown until the closing minutes, Romo’s five-field goal debut helped the Falcons escape with a 22-6 win over the Vikings.
Atlanta signed Romo to the practice squad last week, and even though he’s still not technically on the roster, his performance likely landed him the team’s starting kicker job. Younghoe Koo did not travel with the team to Minnesota, but the Falcons have still not released him at this point.
Head coach Raheem Morris gave Romo a game ball after the team’s Week 2 win, and it sounds like he intends to give the 28-year-old Koo’s job permanently.
“There is about a 90% chance that Romo is our kicker for next week,” Morris told reporters in a virtual press conference Monday afternoon. “There’s no doubt about that.”
Koo’s presence on the roster is somewhat confusing, unless the team is exploring trade options. There have been several missed kicks over the first two weeks of the season, and Koo would be best kicker available as soon as he hits the free agent market.
Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell left Sunday’s game late in the first half due to a hamstring injury and did not return. Morris said there was nothing new to report about Terrell but would know more later this week.
The Falcons have to be pleased with how their defense performed both with and without their No. 1 cornerback on Sunday night. Atlanta recorded six sacks, four turnovers and did not allow a touchdown to the Vikings.
The team’s rookie class had its hands all over Sunday’s win. Defensive backs Billy Bowman Jr. and Xavier Watts recorded their first career interceptions, and first-round picks Jalon Walker James Pearce Jr. recorded their first career sacks.
“I thought James Pearce and Jalon Walker were outstanding up front,” Morris said of the team’s rookie duo.
The Falcons will look to keep that momentum going next weekend against the Carolina Panthers.
