The Washington Commanders are coming off a disappointing 27-18 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Week 2 edition of Thursday Night Football. The score didn’t tell the entire story that Green Bay dominated the game on both sides of the ball.
And then there were the injuries. Washington lost several players to injury during the game. Running back Austin Ekeler (Achilles) and defensive end Deatrich Wise (quad) were lost for the season. Quarterback Jayden Daniels also tweaked his knee during the game. Although it’s not believed to be serious, Washington was concerned enough for Daniels to undergo an MRI.
Head coach Dan Quinn will offer the latest on the Commanders’ injuries on Monday.
What’s next for Washington? After a 10-day break, the Commanders return to Northwest Stadium to host the Las Vegas Raiders. Travel-wise, Washington got the short end of the stick last week, but will benefit this week. The Raiders are playing on Monday night and then flying to the East Coast on a short week for next Sunday’s game. Making matters worse for the Raiders, their game on Monday doesn’t kick off until 10 p.m. ET.
No surprise, the Commanders have opened as favorites over the Raiders for Week 3. Here are the complete betting lines, per BetMGM.
