The Browns captioned the post, “feelin’ real for (Dillon Gabriel),” highlighting a significant moment for the rookie quarterback.
Gabriel’s journey to the NFL has been long.
After a successful trio of seasons at Central Florida, where the Hawaiian quarterback was productive from day one, Gabriel transferred to Oklahoma, then Oregon, helping the Ducks earn a Big Ten championship in the process.

Finally, the Browns selected him in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, a decision that surprised some analysts but underscored the team’s confidence in his abilities as a six-year collegiate starter.

Now, after getting his helmet fitted on Thursday, the former Duck will hope to earn his way into the Cleveland starting lineup alongside a long list of fellow eager quarterbacks.
The Browns’ quarterback room currently also features Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco and Shedeur Sanders, leaving fans unsure who will be under center to start the season this fall.
Gabriel and the Browns will be in preseason action between Aug. 7-23. Specific kickoff times and opponents have yet to be announced.
