It’s incredible what a difference a week makes. This time, seven days ago, the Baltimore Ravens‘ flock was panicking. There was talk that John Harbaugh had lost his voice. There were theories that his team was the game’s best, but also incapable of proving that whenever they needed to do so.
Then came Week 2. The ship was righted, somewhat. The dismantling of the Cleveland Browns celebrated a home debut, but the win was costly. Kyle Van Noy will miss time with an injury, but the show must go on. Baltimore enters a rough stretch that should teach us where they are as a football team.

It would be nice if they had all hands on deck. That may be an issue, but it’s also possible. We’ll see how things go with Jaire Alexander. He participated in practice fully on this past Thursday and Friday, in the days leading up to last Sunday’s game, but he found his name on the inactive reports as a healthy scratch 90 minutes before kickoff.
Isaiah Likely was also out of the lineup, along with two-time All-Pro Patrick Ricard. Head coach John Harbaugh provided an update on the latter. Be forewarned. It doesn’t house the most excellent news.
“I’m not sure what you want to call it, but [his recovery] hasn’t been as quick as we thought. It’s been slower than we hoped, and we’re kind of in that week-to-week mode with Pat right now.”
Ricard continues to work his way back from a nagging calf injury. Coach Harbaugh has expressed that no one we continue to mention should remain injured for the rest of the season, but it stands to reason that Ricard will miss the coming Week 3 game. We’ll see about the games that follow.
