Tight end Tyler Warren has been making the most of his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts so far.

In the two games of his professional career, Warren has 155 receiving yards on 11 receptions. The 14th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft leads the team in yards, catches and targets, being an immediate threat for the Colts offense so far.

Warren’s performance of 7 catches for 79 yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 2 has nominated him for the Rookie of the Week.

Pro Football Focus has released its top-rated rookies through two weeks, featuring the Colts’ first-round selection being named as the third-best rookie, with a grade of 82.4 by the publication.

“Warren owns the sixth-best PFF receiving grade among tight ends (79.4) through Week 2. He has hauled in 11 of 16 targets for 155 yards (first) and eight first downs (tied for first), and he owns top-10 marks in yards after contact (24) and yards after the catch per reception (8.4). The first-rounder is also tied for second in explosive gains (four),” Lauren Gray wrote.

“As a blocker, Warren has yet to surrender any pressure in pass protection (three snaps) and has excelled as a zone blocker (86.1 PFF grade) across 23 snaps.”

After the first week of the 2025 season, Warren was rated as the number-one performing rookie by PFF.

The Colts’ tight end is currently second in receiving yards by a rookie this season, only behind Carolina Panthers’ wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who has 168 receiving yards.

Being one of the Indianapolis Colts’ top receiving threats out of the gate, when the team had three wide receivers who hauled more than 800 yards last season, speaks much about Tyler Warren’s game.

Colts’ offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter spoke to reporters about Warren’s abilities and how to use the player on the field.

“He’s just a really uniquely talented guy,” the OC told reporters. “Plays the game with a headiness and awareness that allows him to take on a task and work on improving on it.”

“I think [Warren] would tell you he’s not a finished product at a lot of these things right now, but he’s working like crazy and able to go out there and have success… He’s able to go do all that stuff, work and improve his craft. He’s gonna get better and better at this as he goes…”

Warren is still easing his way into the offense and could produce a lot more with the coming weeks of the season.

Tyler Warren has been one of the better rookies and better tight ends in the league this season.

The rookie’s 82.4 overall grade from PFF is currently the highest in the NFL out of 30 qualifying tight ends.

Former two-time Pro Bowl Indianapolis Colts punter and show host Pat McAfee praised the Colts’ rookie after Week 2.

“Tyler Warren might be the best football player in the NFL,” McAfee said.

McAfee believes the Colts aren’t close to perfecting their offense and has a high belief that Indianapolis could win the Super Bowl.
