Brandon Aubrey is the man of the moment, thanks to his heroics in the Cowboys’ 40-37 overtime win over the New York Giants.
Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones continued to praise the standout kicker during his Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM). Jones pointed out how Aubrey’s ability to nail clutch field goals instills confidence throughout the entire team.
So, is it time for Aubrey to get a contract extension? The team has notably been busy in recent weeks, giving new deals to players like Tyler Smith, Hunter Luepke, DaRon Bland and Jake Ferguson. Jones offered an answer to the question Tuesday.
“Well, he certainly is coming and we’ll be looking at that,” Jones said. “Probably have had communications since the kick. But he’s certainly in the future.”

Aubrey had a crucial part in Dallas’ victory, going 4-for-4 on field goal attempts. He notably tied the game up late in the fourth quarter with a 64-yard field goal, then gave Dallas the win with a 46-yarder in overtime.
Aubrey wasn’t the only player Jones brought up in his latest radio appearance. The Cowboys owner was also asked if the team has been missing Micah Parsons’ pass rush ability through the season’s first two weeks.
In two games as a Green Bay Packer, Parsons has displayed the ability that made him a game-changing weapon with the Cowboys to start his NFL career.
“Well, I think you can miss Micah at any time and you can’t argue that. I think what we have, though, is a defense that when we get it down, get our gap responsibilities as they call it, when we get that down, then I think what we’ve done will be sound, sound, sound,” Jones said. “Over a period of time, and that’s as we add pieces to the defense — and we’re going to, just as we did [Monday] — then I think that we will take up anything that we have been missing the last two games.”
The newest addition to the Cowboys’ defense? Veteran pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, who signed a one-year deal with the team. Jones also brought up the idea of the Cowboys getting internal help in the secondary after enduring some struggles Sunday.
He particularly discussed the injured Bland and rookie cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. Revel is still recovering from a knee injury he sustained in his last year at East Carolina. He was selected by Dallas in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.
“He’s on the way and we’ll start looking at him. I think from the start of the first game, he was four games out when he would be available for us to get,” Jones said. “Once you put him in a certain status — and he wasn’t available to start the season — once you put him in a status as four games away, his injury situation right now will allow him to be there in the fourth game or after the fourth game.”
