The Los Angeles Rams offense took some to get going through the first six quarters of action but turned it on in the second of Week 2 to put up 33 points in a win.
Matthew Stafford shook off the rust from an offseason riddled with a back injury to throw for nearly 300 passing yards, and the running game almost eclipsed 150 total years in Week 2.

While no one will claim the Rams have the best offense in the NFL yet, L.A. proved through two weeks it’s an efficient unit. The Rams rank fifth in expected points added (EPA) per offensive play, per The 33rd Team, behind only the Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers.
This has Sean McVay’s fingerprints all over it. The Rams head coach is one of the best offensive play-callers in the NFL, and he’s created a system that can win tight games (like in Week 1) and pull off second-half blowouts (like in Week 2). It helps, too, that he has Matthew Stafford under center with two electrics receivers in Davante Adams and Puka Naca.
The Rams are 2-0 mostly because of their defensive showing (just one offensive touchdown allowed in two weeks), but the offense will power them to wins behind Stafford and company with McVay on the sidelines. And to remain competitive with the rest of the top teams, the Rams will need to continue to iterate on their offense in the weeks to come.
