If they trust him from 70 yards, from 70, that means that the minute they get to midfield, from 50, it’s a 67-yarder.

If they trust him from 70, they don’t even have to get to midfield to get 3 points.

So that means you get one first down on any drive that starts as a touchback at the 35 now, and you are in field goal range if Brandon Aubrey is your kicker.

You cannot tell me that won’t make a difference.

100%.

That makes a difference.

Can you imagine how valuable that is?

I mean, some teams are built defensively, some teams are built offensively.

A team with Brandon Aubrey can be built through special teams, can be built by the idea and the mindset that, hey, if we can just get to midfield or just a scosh past midfield, like we’re good with that.

Like, like we can sleep at night with that, and think about how many moments come down to kicks, whether it’s regular season or how many moments came down to, okay.

Clock’s winding down.

6 seconds left on the clock.

You’re down by one.

You need your kicker to hit a 50-yarder or a 45- yarder, or wherever you would not necessarily consider a quote-unquote gimme.

How many times have we been sitting on the edge of our couches, biting our fingernails with anxiety to see what the kicker is going to do?

So many games can come down to kickers, whether it’s in the last couple of seconds of the game or missed or made field goals throughout the course of the game.

I mean, the difference in the NFL is an inch, it’s a sco, it’s an itty bitty razor-blade thin.

Between wins and losses and winning a Super Bowl and not winning a Super Bowl, just ask the Tennessee Titans.

So, I mean, yes, absolutely, I would say that it’s incredibly valuable.

60-yard field goal conversion percentages are going through the roof, and look at the numbers here.

From 1960 to 2014, 11.9% success rate.

The last couple of years, 37%.

0.8%.

In fact, over that time, 60 from 60 plus, from 60 plus.

So, this might be 50, yeah, 60 plus, right here.

Right here.

In fact, I just looked it up from 50 to 60 yards, the next, uh, group in.

We’ve been, as a league, converting almost 70% of those kicks over the last two years.

So almost 70% of 50- 5-yard yarders are going in.

Not even talking about that, and then you look at success rate on 60+ yard field goals since 2023.

Brandon Aubrey, 71.4%.

Everyone else, 33.3%.

If you are a challenged offense right now that thinks you’re in a Super Bowl window and you’re looking around and saying, well, I can’t add anything to my offense that’s gonna help me generate points, but damn, I could add a kicker.
