FRISCO – Seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady created a stir on Monday night when the Fox broadcaster and limited owner of the Las Vegas Raiders sat in the coach’s box during the Raiders-Chargers game.

Brady’s presence raised the discussion for a conflict of interest regarding Brady because he has access to the Raiders coaches while also a broadcaster for one of the NFL’s television partners.

On Sunday, the Cowboys visit the Bears and Brady will call the game for Fox Sports. Brady isn’t allowed to visit team facilities as he does research on the teams. He can participate in virtual calls only with coaches and players. The NFL said Brady violated no rules by watching the Raiders-Chargers game from the coaches box because he’s a minority owner.

As far as Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer is concerned, he has no problems with Brady.

“Yeah, I’m not even going to talk to Tom,” Schottenheimer said Wednesday while laughing. “Everybody has everybody’s playbook, everybody knows somebody that knows somebody that’s been someplace. I don’t have a problem with it. Some people might, but look, I’ll talk football with anybody.”

The Cowboys visit the Raiders on Monday Night Football on Nov. 17. That game is on ESPN/ABC.

One of Schottenheimer’s mentors is Raiders coach Pete Carroll.

“I love the game and what Tom does with his ownership position is up to Tom,” Schottenheimer said. “But in terms of me being concerned about something I might say to Tom getting back to Pete, or getting back to them, I think Pete and I know each other pretty well.”

Bears coach Ben Johnson also expressed no concern while talking with reporters on Wednesday.

“I’m really not worried about it,” Johnson said. “I mean, we change week to week in terms of what we do. Schematically, he’s going to be able to turn on the tape and see what everyone else in the world is seeing right now.”
