The Kansas City Chiefs may be without second-year wide receiver Xavier Worthy on Sunday, after the former Texas Longhorn sustained a shoulder injury in Week 1.

Here’s the latest update on Worthy’s status ahead of the Chiefs’ Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants on September 21:

Xavier Worthy injury update

Worthy dislocated his shoulder in Week 1 and had to miss Kansas City’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. He was a limited participant in the Chiefs’ latest practice session on Wednesday.

How long will Xavier Worthy be out?

Worthy has yet to be given an official game status for Week 3, but for now, it seems unlikely that the speedy wideout will take the field against the Giants on Sunday.

If Worthy is unable to play against the Giants in Week 3, Kansas City’s coaching staff will look to veterans Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Nikko Remigio to pick up the slack in the passing game.
