After another entertaining Saturday, Week 4 of the 2025 college football season here with a handful of high-profile conference openers. Let’s make some predictions.

Each week, I’ll be sharing picks against the spread, as well as an over/under or two. We’ll cover the biggest games of the slate while sprinkling in a few under-the-radar matchups, too.

We went 2-3 last week. After a hot start with Alabama and Oklahoma covering, Pitt lost outright to West Virginia as a seven-point favorite, the under in Georgia-Tennessee was dead in the first quarter, and the Gators failed to cover vs. LSU. We move on, 6-9-1 through three weeks.

No. 17 Texas Tech at No. 16 Utah (-2.5)

Saturday, noon, FOX

The Utes have the offensive line, led by Spencer Fano, perhaps the top tackle prospect in the country, to slow down David Bailey and the Red Raiders’ front. Look for Utah QB Devon Dampier to make a couple game-changing plays in a 10 a.m. local kick. The pick: Utah -2.5.

Arkansas at Memphis (+7.5)

Saturday, noon, ABC

I love Arkansas QB Taylen Green. But I do not love the Razorbacks’ defense. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Memphis wins outright thanks to a dynamite running game. The pick: Memphis +7.5

Purdue at No. 24 Notre Dame (-24.5)

I didn’t rank Notre Dame on my AP Top 25 ballot after an 0-2 start. But I do think the Irish are good enough to demolish Purdue in a bounce-back spot. The pick: Notre Dame -24.5

No. 22 Auburn at No. 11 Oklahoma (-6.5)

Saturday, 3:30 p.m., ABC

This is a revenge game of sorts for Auburn QB Jackson Arnold after he was benched by the Sooners last year and transferred out of Norman. But Brent Venables is a superior defensive mind, and he knows Arnold better than anyone. The pick: Oklahoma -6.5

No. 9 Illinois at No. 19 Indiana (-5.5)

Saturday, 7:30 p.m., NBC

I like what Curt Cignetti has going in Bloomington, and transfer QB Fernando Mendoza looks legit. But the Hoosiers haven’t been tested yet, facing Old Dominion, Kennesaw State and Indiana State in the non-conference. Again, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Luke Altmyer and Illinois wins this outright. The pick: Illinois +5.5

Florida at No. 4 Miami (-7.5)

Saturday, 7:30 p.m., ABC

We just watched D.J. Lagway throw five interceptions against LSU’s defense. Now, Florida’s QB has to face a nasty Miami pass rush and a retooled unit under DC Corey Hetherman on the road in the rivalry game. I’d like it more if it was -6.5, but still. The pick: Miami -7.5
