INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Colts are off to a hot start, and a major factor for that is their team chemistry.

Colts head coach Shane Steichen and his players have echoed a similar sentiment following their dramatic Week 2 win against the Broncos, and that’s how their camaraderie is helping them win games.

Steichen

“I think they’re playing together. I think everyone’s dialed in every day, like I said. They’re playing for one another. The camaraderie is great. You can feel it in this building. They get together a lot, go to dinners during the week. I think that pays dividends. These guys are playing together at a high level, and we’ve got to continue that and demand it every week and stay disciplined in our approach.”

Daniel Jones

“I think we’ve got a lot of guys who are bought into what we’re doing and want to win more than anything. No one’s bigger than that. No one’s bigger than the team. I think you feel that. We’ve got to continue to do that. We’ve got to do that through the week as we prepare this week to play the Titans.”

Zaire Franklin

“That was really one of my biggest goals. Just coming off of last year, I just felt like, not even to continue even talking about last year, but I felt like we had some cracks in the cup. So just coming into this year, it was just a big deal for myself and all the leaders to make sure we were all one band, one sound. Everybody moving together whether that was getting together outside of the building or just making sure we’re sticking together on the field. I think this team is showing that we’ve been growing together. We just got to keep that going. I think a big road win in the division would be big for us.”

DeForest Buckner

“Just the confidence of having each other. You know what I mean? No matter how the game’s going, I mean, the guys just dig deep and trust one another to do our jobs. We found a way to win. I mean, it’s not going to be pretty every time. You’re going to have some ugly ones, but as long as you come up with a W, that’s all that matters.”

Spencer Shrader

We were talking about when a team works together, everyone is successful because of that. I think a lot of times in this profession you have a lot of individual effort. Guys want to get paid, they want to make money, they want to make plays, but it doesn’t necessarily benefit the team bigger picture. Whereas if you focus on doing your job for the team, taking care of your business and doing your part, you’re going to succeed collectively as a team, and as an individual.

Jonathan Taylor

“I just think that there’s a little bit something extra. it’s a little bit something extra and of course we know we’re honoring Mr. Irsay and of course we know he’s looking down and we know that we have a little bit of that blessing on us, but it’s just about that focus, that emphasis each and every single week and understanding that we’re on a mission. For us to be able to play for each other, offense, defense, special teams, playing that complimentary ball, that’s how we’re going to win games.”

Franklin

“This team’s got grit, and I’ll just tell you straight up, this team believes in each other. They love each other and I think it shows up in the toughest moments.”

Rigoberto Sanchez

“Everybody’s coming together and I think that’s what makes great football teams. You see it around the league at the end of the year, and hopefully we can be that team at the end of the year as well.”

The Colts hit the road for their first road game this week, travelling to play the Tennessee Titans. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
