EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The Los Angeles Chargers launched their 2025 rookie minicamp today at The Bolt in El Segundo, introducing a revamped format under Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. Departing from traditional 11-on-11 drills, Harbaugh emphasized individualized, drill-based sessions to better evaluate raw talent. “We’re mining for gold, diamonds, gems,” Harbaugh remarked, aiming to identify standout abilities without the constraints of full-team setups.Â
First-round pick Omarion Hampton (RB, North Carolina) and second-rounder Tre Harris (WR, Mississippi) were among the rookies making their debut. Hampton, donning jersey No. 8, showcased his agility and enthusiasm during drills, while Harris demonstrated precise route-running and reliable hands.
Defensive lineman Jamaree Caldwell and linebacker Kyle Kennard also made strong impressions. Kennard shared a memorable moment meeting veteran Khalil Mack, describing it as “surreal” and expressing eagerness to learn from the seasoned pro.Â
The minicamp continues through May 11, followed by Organized Team Activities (OTAs) later this month. The Chargers’ full offseason schedule, including mandatory minicamp dates, has been announced, with the full 2025 season schedule set to be released on May 14.
