CALIF. CITY – The Calif. City Ravens varsity team couldn’t break out of their

rough patch on Sept. 12 th as the team picked up their third straight loss. They

were dealt a 47-6 defeat at the hands of the Viewpoint Patriots. The Ravens

were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

The Patriots took the lead in the beginning of the game, leading 7-0 at the end

of the first quarter There were 10 minutes left in the first half; the Patriots rushed

for two more touchdowns and with the extra point and a failed attempt, took the

score to 20-0 at halftime.

The third quarter saw the Patriots kick off to the Ravens and with 11 minutes to

go in the third, the Patriots recovered the fumble by the Ravens throwing a

touchdown pass into the end zone; the extra point was good making the score

27-0. Another rushing touchdown and extra point be Viewpoint saw the score 34-

0 then a pick 6 brought the score to 40-0 at the end of the third.

The fourth quarter saw another kickoff by the Patriots the with 11 minutes left to

play in the game, Viewpoint intercepts a pass from the Ravens; with 7 minutes

left in the game, the Patriots completed another rushing touchdown and extra

point, giving the Patriots a 47-0 lead. The Ravens came back with just under a

minute left to play in the game; completing a touchdown pass and with a failed

extra point kick, lost by a final score of 47-6.

Team leaders for the Ravens this season so far are: #29 Carlito Brown with a

total of 8 rushing yards per game #10 Deigo Ruiz with a total of 124 passing

yards and 123 total yards per game and #13 Brandon Horns with 108 total

receiving yards per game. This loss dropped the Ravens record to 0-3 when

Calif. City takes on Silver Valley at home on Sept. 18 th .
