The Atlanta Falcons (1-1) and the Carolina Panthers (0-2) meet Sunday for a Week 3 game at Bank of America Field in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). The Falcons suffered a 23-20 loss in Week 1 at home as a 1-point underdog against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the Under (47.5) cashed. PK Younghoe Koo, who has since been released, missed a field goal which would have sent the game to overtime in Week 1. He was replaced by PK John Parker Romo in Week 2, and he is now the starter. He was 5-for-5 on field goals, including a 54-yarder, in a Sunday Night Football win over the Minnesota Vikings, 22-6. RB Bijan Robinson ran for 143 yards on 22 carries in the victory.

The Panthers were pounded in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, losing 26-10 as a 4.5-point underdog as the Under (45) cashed. In Week 2, Carolina had a rousing comeback in Arizona, falling just short in a 27-22 loss. However, it had the backdoor cover as 7.5-point underdogs as the Over (45.5) just came in. QB Bryce Young threw for a career-best 328 yards and 3 TDs in the loss to the Cards.

These teams split the regular-season series in 2024, with the road team winning outright and covering in both meetings. The Over hit in each game, too, with a total of 58 combined points in the first meeting in Charlotte, and 82 combined points in a 44-38 OT win by the Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Jan. 5.

The PANTHERS (+200) are worth a shot, and an upset will help you double up.

Carolina is playing its home opener, and it should be able to take advantage of the energy of the crowd. Young and the Panthers recovered an onside kick in Arizona, and had a shot to go ahead late, but Carolina fell just short. While the road team has done well at times in this series over the past decade, trust the home side.

If you’re a little less adventurous, PANTHERS +5.5 (-115) is worth a look in the home opener.

The Panthers have covered 4 of the past 6 meetings in this series since Oct. 30, 2022. Both teams are 1-1 ATS so far this season, so there isn’t much to glean there. Carolina’s comeback last week gives hope that this team isn’t as bad as its 0-2 record.

UNDER 43.5 (-110) is worth a look in this NFC South battle in Charlotte.

The Over cashed in both meetings last season, but defense should be the rule here. Atlanta has cashed low in both games to date, while Carolina has split the Over-Under in 2 games. The Falcons D looked fierce in Minnesota on SNF in Week 2, allowing just the 6 points. Expect a good defensive effort on both sides.
