The Miami Dolphins are now 0-3 and have pass rushers, a safety, and running backs the Cowboys should inquire about in a trade.

The Dallas Cowboys have been way more active in 2025 than they have in a very long time. They signed free agents early, made multiple trades of draft picks for starters, and traded away Micah Parsons for Kenny Clark and future picks.

The team has been a mixed bag through the first two games. The offense has been excellent, but it can always improve. The defense has struggled to get to the quarterback and cover on the backend. They could use some additional help in several areas for this year and beyond. Searching for trade partners who are selling this early is a struggle, but with the Miami Dolphins at 0-3, a call to them would make plenty of sense because they have several players in areas of need for Dallas.

Pass rusher

Jaelan Phillips has dealt with injuries the last two seasons, but he’s been productive when on the field. He accumulated 15.5 sacks and 62 pressures in his first two seasons when he was healthy all year.

Bradley Chubb is a double-digit sack guy coming off a torn ACL in 2024, but he already has two sacks in 2025. In his last full year, he had 73 tackles, 11 for a loss, 11 sacks, and 33 pressures.

Chop Robinson brought down the opposing quarterback six times and added 20 pressures as a rookie. It’s unlikely Miami wants to lose a cheap edge rusher with at least two more years remaining on his rookie deal, but one of these three could be available for the right price, and Dallas is still trying to replace Parsons’ production.

Running Back

De’Von Achane put up nearly 1,000 yards from scrimmage and scored 11 touchdowns as a rookie. He increased his production to 1,500 yards in his second year, with 12 touchdowns. He is the dual-threat type of back that Brian Schottenheimer likes. Achane’s receptions went from 27 in his rookie year to 78 in Year 2, and his receiving yardage went from under 200 to 592. He would cost some higher draft capital, but would be worth it.

Jaylen Wright hasn’t had a chance to make an impact on a depth chart that had Mostert and Achane on it. He is the same type of speed back, so the team didn’t use him to change the pace of play like they might with Ollie Gordon II. He brings blazing speed to the table and should have fresh legs with under 200 total snaps in his career.

Defensive Back

Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is a three-time All-Pro player who commands the backend of the defense and helps elevate it. He has had a single-digit missed tackle percentage the last four seasons and played 99% of the snaps four of the previous five years. He could be the game-changer the Dallas defense might desperately need.
