The Chargers are slated to play two other divisions aside from their own — the AFC South and the NFC East — based on a league-wide rotation that makes up eight games on the schedule.
The Bolts will play a second-place schedule based on their 11-6 finish last season, which is why they were matched up against same-place finishers in Miami, Minnesota and Pittsburgh.
Not to mention, the Chargers will play in Brazil to open the season this year.
It will be a test for the Chargers in 2025 as they will play nine games against teams who made the playoffs last season.
That group is made up of the Chiefs and Broncos (two games apiece), plus games against the Texans, Eagles, Commanders, Steelers and Vikings.
Elsewhere around the AFC West, the Broncos and Raiders aren’t too far behind in strength of schedule.
Denver has the 15th toughest schedule next season as their opponents combined to go 146-143 (.505), while Las Vegas have the 16th toughest schedule at 145-144 (.502).
