The Seattle Seahawks have parted ways with some high-profile players in recent years.

Seahawks Injury Report: 4 players doubtful vs Saints, including Charbonnet

That was especially the case during a franchise-altering stretch this past March, which saw them release franchise great Tyler Lockett and then trade away two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith and star wideout DK Metcalf in a pair of blockbuster deals.

How are Smith, Metcalf and Lockett faring with their new teams? And what about former Seahawks icons Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner? Here’s a quick check-in through the first two weeks of the NFL season.

Geno Smith, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

• Season stats: 62.3% completion rate, 542 passing yards, 1 TD, 4 interceptions

Smith had a strong Raiders debut, completing 24 of 34 passes for 362 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 20-13 season-opening win over the New England Patriots. He had nine completions of 20-plus yards in that game, which was the most by a Raiders quarterback since at least 1991.

But it was a different story in Smith’s home debut with Las Vegas, as he completed just 24 of 43 passes for 180 yards, no TDs and three picks in the Raiders’ 20-9 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers this past Monday night. The 34-year-old Smith only had one three-interception game in 52 starts with the Seahawks – last year’s Week 9 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams, which included a pair of red-zone picks inside the 10-yard line.

Smith’s four interceptions through the first two weeks were the most in the NFL.

Russell Wilson, QB, New York Giants

• Season stats: 60.3% completion rate, 618 passing yards, 3 TDs, 1 interception, 67 rushing yards, 11 carries

With first-round draft pick Jaxson Dart waiting in the wings, Wilson’s status as the Giants’ starter came into question after a lackluster debut where he completed just 17 of 37 passes for 168 yards in a 21-6 season-opening loss to the Washington Commanders.

But the 36-year-old Wilson turned back the clock in Week 2, completing 30 of 41 passes for 450 yards, three TDs and an interception in a wild 40-37 overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Wilson threw two long go-ahead TD passes in the final three minutes of regulation – a 32-yarder to Wan’Dale Robinson with 2:44 left and a 48-yarder to Malik Nabers with 25 seconds left – and finished just 2 yards shy of matching his career high for passing yards in a game.

Buoyed by that Week 2 performance, Wilson led the NFL with 618 passing yards through the first two weeks.

DK Metcalf, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

• Season stats: 7 catches, 13 targets, 103 yards, 1 TD

Metcalf had four receptions for 83 yards in the Steelers’ season-opening win over the New York Jets, but he wasn’t much of a factor against the Seahawks in Week 2. Metcalf did haul in a 2-yard TD pass in Pittsburgh’s loss to Seattle, but finished with the day with just three catches on six targets for 20 yards. It was his fewest receiving yards since Week 18 of the 2023 season.

Metcalf hasn’t been much of a downfield threat for the Steelers. Six of his seven catches have come less than 10 yards downfield and none have come 20-plus yards downfield, according to Pro Football Focus.

Tyler Lockett, WR, Tennessee Titans

• Season stats: 2 catches, 4 targets, 9 yards

Lockett, the second-leading receiver in Seahawks franchise history, was held without a catch in the Titans’ season-opening loss to the Denver Broncos and had just two catches in their Week 2 loss to the Rams. The 32-year-old wideout has played 53% of Tennessee’s offensive snaps. He played 70% of Seattle’s offensive snaps last year.

Bobby Wagner, LB, Washington Commanders

• Season stats: 21 tackles, 1 tackle for loss

At age 35, Wagner has played every defensive snap for the Commanders over their first two games. The 10-time Pro Bowler ranks eighth out of 70 linebackers in PFF grading.

Noah Fant, TE, Cincinnati Bengals

• Season stats: 7 catches, 9 targets, 54 yards, 1 TD

Fant had four receptions for 26 yards in the Bengals’ season-opening win over the Cleveland Browns, including a 1-yard touchdown catch. That came after Fant totaled just one TD reception over his final two seasons with Seattle in 2023 and 2024. Fant then had three catches for 28 yards in a Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Seahawks released the 27-year-old Fant as a salary-cap casualty prior to training camp. He had one year left on a two-year deal.
