The Houston Texans’ defense is now taking a hit for potentially the rest of the afternoon.
Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is questionable to return with a rib injury. Veteran backup Tremon Smith replaced him, with Jaylin Smith now on the injured reserve.

Stingley came up holding his rib after going toe-to-toe with Brian Thomas Jr. during a third-down stop. He went to the medical tent following the touchdown drive, but returned to the field on the ensuing drive.
Houston has been short-handed at the cornerback position for most of the regular season and will be without Smith for at least four weeks. D’Angelo Ross and Myles Bryant are the only two players remaining on the sidelines and both were elevated from the practice squad.
The Texans trail 7-0 midway through the second quarter. Texans Wire will keep you up to date on the status of Stingley for the rest of the game.
