The Washington Commanders improved to 2-1 on the season with Sunday’s 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. But the win may have proved costly in other ways.

Wide receiver Terry McLaurin and cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Trey Amos all left with injuries and did not return. It’s difficult to say how serious the injuries are until head coach Dan Quinn speaks on Monday afternoon. Lattimore was checked for a concussion, but Quinn did not reveal after the game whether Lattimore did indeed suffer a concussion. Some of these players may not have returned to the game because Washington enjoyed such a big lead.

However, there was another injury, and it is serious.

Starting safety Will Harris made a nice play in the end zone, breaking up a potential touchdown pass to Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers. He was injured on the play and did not return. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we see Harris again.

Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Harris suffered a fractured fibula and will undergo further tests to determine the full extent of the injury.

Harris signed a two-year deal this offseason to replace Jeremy Chinn and was outstanding in the Week 1 win over the Giants. Jeremy Reaves played the majority of snaps when Harris went down. Washington has depth at safety with Reaves, Percy Butler and Tyler Owens. Reaves was already playing more defensive snaps this season and is in line to take over for Harris.

We’ll have more on Harris once Quinn goes over Washington’s injuries on Monday.
