Even with a near-fully healthy offense, the Houston Texans moved like molasses for most of the afternoon in a 17-10 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. As for snaps, plenty of newcomers were forced to step on up because of injury.

Three players saw all 70 defensive snaps in Sunday’s loss at EverBank Stadium thanks to a fourth-quarter comeback from Jacksonville. Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaar, defensive back Calen Bullock and cornerback Kamari Lassiter never left the field, but each were responsible for a game-changing play that ended a seven-year winning streak in Duval County.

Defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson left the field for five snaps after being poked in the eye, but he and Henry To’oTo’o played 90 percent of the defensive snaps. Special teams star Tremon Smith played 73 percent of snaps after All-Pro cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. left in the second quarter with a rib injury and did not return.

C.J. Stroud, Tay Ersery, Tyuts Howard and Jake Andrews were the only offensive players to play 100 percent of the snaps. At left guard, Laken Tomlinson and Juice Scruggs rotated in between series, with Scruggs playing more snaps with 36. Nico Collins and tight end Dalton Schultz played 87 and 79 percent of snaps, respectively.

Here’s a look at the Texans‘ team snap count from Sunday’s 17-10 loss out at EverBank Stadium.

The Texans return home to take on the winless Tennessee Titans this Sunday at noon. The loser will fall to 0-4 and be ranked last in the AFC South division at 0-2.
