Marvin Harrison Jr. did not hold back on his thoughts on his performance following the Arizona Cardinals’ 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Heading into Arizona’s Week 3 clash with San Francisco, the Cardinals enjoyed wins over the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers. As a result, the Cardinals looked to carry their momentum behind their stars against a daunting 49ers defense, which saw Nick Bosa go down with an ACL injury.
Harrison did not have a stellar outing against San Francisco, recording 44 yards on three receptions, including a dropped pass right to his chest. The game also saw James Conner sustain an ankle injury, which will keep him out for the rest of the season.

Speaking to reporters after the game, an emotional Harrison did not hold back on his outing against the 49ers, believing he is playing at a level beneath him and where he wants to be moving forward. “It’s a lot of emotion,” the 23-year-old began in the locker room.
“Just disappointed, really. I know what I put into the game. So, it doesn’t feel the best. I don’t know if I’ve got a job to do. I’m not doing my job at a high enough level at the moment.” The youngster also added that what makes the situation worse was the fact that he knows just how well he can play and Sunday’s display was not indicative of his talents.
“I think I know what I’m capable of,” he continued. “To go out there and not play to nowhere near the best of my abilities. It’s frustrating. It hurts the team. I’ve got to get better.”

After the loss, star quarterback Kyler Murray took a look back at all the plays that were not made and shared what goes into his mind when a ball isn’t caught or intercepted, especially since a the Cardinals lost to the 49ers by a field goal.
“Immediately, I go to, you know, myself as far as, you know, how the ball come out, ball placement, things of that nature, just, you know, the little nuances of playing the position,” Murray began. “I feel like, you know, could I have given him a better ball? Was it a wild one?
“You know, so, again, I got to watch the film, but I think that our players, you know, we all can be better and I expect those guys, you know, again, myself included, to make those plays.”

The star quarterback made it clear that the team was “frustrated” they let the game slip away. “We had plays there,” Murray continued. “We had plays there throughout the game that, you know, I know I’ve seen our guys make. I know, you know, again, it’s myself included.
“We all just got to be better. But when you’re playing better teams, you’re playing better opponents, can’t afford to, you know, let those happen. Just because, you know, you get a chance to put your foot on the throat, you have to.
“And, you know, today obviously it ended in a walk-off field goal. It was that close. You know, we had multiple opportunities, I feel like, to kind of put that game away. Yeah, it’s frustrating.”
The Cardinals will have a short week to try and forget about the loss to the 49ers, taking on the Seattle Seahawks Thursday at home, where Harrison hopes to have a better showing, especially with Conner out.
