There aren’t many reasons to complain during the NFL season, unless, of course, your team is losing, but if you need another, here’s a biggie. It takes forever for the regular season to arrive. Then, it’s over as quickly as it started. Annually, it seems the campaign progresses rapidly. It feels like it was just yesterday when the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys endured a weather delay, but once this coming Sunday comes to a close, we will have wrapped up a month’s worth of games.
With three games in our rearview mirror, it seems easier to identify legitimate strengths and weaknesses. The NFC East will be a fascinating watch all season. Long known as ‘The Money Division, four of pro football’s most storied franchises will be among the most popular talking points from now until the regular season ends (and beyond).

The New York Giants aren’t quite ready for primetime. The Washington Commanders continue their quest to become an annual contender. How do these four teams stack up? We’re glad you asked. Here are your NFC East power rankings following the first three weeks of action.
1. Philadelphia Eagles 3-0
This isn’t about any bias or anything close to such. You’ve watched this Eagles team for three weeks now. They haven’t played a complete game yet and continue to come out as the victors.
They can win in any fashion necessary. In Week 2, they won a road slugfest vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. Week 3 offered a come-from-behind rally. This appears to be a team that can beat anyone as long as they aren’t being themselves.

2. Washington Commanders 2-1
The 2-1 Commanders seem to be the only NFC East team that can seriously challenge Philadelphia for divisional superiority. They’re on their way, but if they had to play the Birds this week, the Eagles would be favored and expected to win, as they should be.
During the first two weeks of the season, Daniels showed no early signs of a potential sophomore slump. In Week 3, he served as a spectator as his teammates took care of business in a homestand led by Marcus Mariota.
3. Dallas Cowboys 1-2
The Cowboys began this season vs. the Eagles as an offensively challenged unit. They played better in Week 2 against New York, putting up a stronger performance. They lit up the scoreboard vs. the Giants, but Dallas’s chief issue is that they can’t stop anyone. In consecutive weeks, the Giants and Chicago Bears did pretty much whatever they wanted.

Dallas is tough to stop on offense, but it won’t matter if they don’t improve defensively. So far, no good on that front. The playoffs seem unlikely, but one can never predict how things may turn out. Check back for further updates.
4. New York Giants 0-3
The G-Men might be slightly better on defense than the Cowboys and somewhat worse than them on offense. They land in the cellar here, though. They’re currently 0-3, and it’s hard to place them ahead of Dallas when they gave them their best shot and lost anyway.
