Klassen then gushed about what Herbert did in crunch time against Denver.
“He is exceptional, man. It’s only been three weeks into the season, and you have no idea how long any of this stuff is going to last, but he has been the best quarterback in the NFL. His ability to replace the blitz when he needs to, stand in the pocket when he needs to,” Klassen said.
“The final touchdown he throws to Keenan Allen … he drops his arm slot around Nik Bonito,” Klassen continued.
He later added: “I don’t know how many people in my lifetime I’ve seen that can make a throw like that. I can count them on my hand. He’s been doing that stuff for years but the fact now that it’s been a little bit more consistent and he’s been a little bit more active in doing some of that stuff, it’s unbelievable.”
The group, which also included Dave Helman, also pointed out Quentin Johnston’s hot start to the 2025 season.
Johnston has 14 catches for 239 yards and three scores through three games and has taken another step forward in Year 3.
Mays called Johnston “a very real player” who has become a key part of the offense.
“For him to show up in the way that he has so far this season, it’s been remarkable,” Mays said.
Helman added: “He’s playing like a guy that you draft 21st overall.”
