The Seattle Seahawks signed wide receiver Cody White off their practice squad and back to their 53-man roster on Tuesday.

To make room for White, Seattle waived safety Jerrick Reed II.

The Seahawks also signed veteran running back Khalil Herbert to their practice squad and placed undrafted rookie running back Jacardia Wright on the practice squad injured reserve.

10 notable Seahawks stats through the first three weeks

White, a sixth-year wideout, opened the season on Seattle’s 53-man roster and appeared in the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, playing five offensive snaps and six special teams snaps. Since then, he’s gone back and forth between the practice squad and active roster multiple times.

Reed, a 2023 sixth-round draft pick by Seattle, was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster this past weekend as added depth for the Seahawks’ shorthanded secondary. He played six defensive snaps and 16 special teams snaps in Seattle’s rout of the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Herbert, a 2021 sixth-round pick by Chicago, rushed for 1,775 and eight touchdowns over his first three seasons with the Bears. Then after splitting 2024 with the Bears and the Cincinnati Bengals, he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in March and was released in August.

Wright was elevated from the practice squad to serve as Seattle’s third running back against the Saints with Zach Charbonnet dealing with a foot injury. Wright had five carries for 20 yards, but suffered a foot injury, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson.

No changes to injury report

There were no changes to Seattle’s practice report from Monday to Tuesday. The Seahawks held a walkthrough on Tuesday, so the practice report was an estimation of what players would have done in a full practice. Seattle didn’t practice Monday, so that report was also an estimation.

There will be more clarity on the Seahawks’ injury situation when the team releases its game status report on Wednesday ahead of Thursday night’s divisional clash against the Arizona Cardinals.
