The re-signed outside linebacker Elliott Brown, who was cut last week, and signed safety Patrick McMorris.
After his career at Virginia, Brown wasn’t drafted in 2022 and signed with the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League for the 2023 season. He played 10 games that year and had a breakout season in 2024.
Brown played 18 games and tied for the league lead with 8.0 sacks. He also had 44 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery and was named to the CFL West Division All-Star team.
McMorris (6-0, 210) played six games last season with the Dolphins as a rookie after entering the league with Miami as a sixth-round selection (198th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft out of California. Earlier this season, McMorris also spent time on the New York Giants practice squad. He played the 2023 season at California after beginning his collegiate career at San Diego State (2019-22).
