ABERDEEN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -The Northern Football team finished last season very strong.
They won 5 of their last 6 games and ended up with a winning record after a slow start.
There is no doubt they were really looking forward to this season getting here as quickly as possible. So I asked Mike Schmidt if he thought the momentum could carry over to this season.
Mike Schmidt, Northern Football Coach says, “I’m generally not a big believer in momentum. You hope it’s going to carry over here. I think it’s more so more than momentum, it’s learning. Learning how to win, learning how to play in big games and finish big games in this league. So as much as it was momentum I think it was just our program going through a learning phase and hopefully we’re able to carry that over and learn from all that last year. We certainly don’t want to forget it and carry it into now.”
The Wolves lost that wild shootout at USF to open the season but they have roared back to win 2 straight. They are at Mary this coming Saturday.
