The Los Angeles Rams had the defending champs on the ropes in Week 3, with multiple opportunities at field goals to extend their lead or win the game as time was set to expire. The Eagles had other plans as they blocked both field goals, and Eagles DT Jalen Carter took the final attempt for a game-sealing touchdown to add insult to injury.
The Rams did find out some injury news this week, though, as Davante Adams missed practice on Wednesday.
What Happened to Davante Adams?
Adams has been dealing with a sore hamstring from the game against the Eagles. He didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice, but it shouldn’t be much of a concern for his status in Week 4. Sean McVay isn’t worried about his status and expects to see him suiting up in Week 4 against the 3-0 Indianapolis Colts. Adams is a seasoned veteran and has often gotten Wednesdays off from practice because of his experience.
He had a solid game against the Eagles, reeling in a 44-yard touchdown on a three-catch, 56-yard performance. He had plenty of targets and moved well throughout the game. The Rams are still waiting for a signature game from Adams, but he’s still been productive through three weeks. The encouraging sign is his 29 targets, despite only having 13 catches on the season.
Stafford has weapons on the outside with Adams and star Puka Nacua. He’s always looking their way and making a concentrated effort to get the ball to them. The Rams’ offense has looked good in their past two games, scoring 59 total points. The Rams came in at 11th in the PFSN OFFi metric in Week 3 with a grade of 75.3, just missing out on the top 10 by .1 to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Rams have a challenging task ahead of them against the Colts. This was nearly a battle of undefeated teams if it wasn’t for the special team heroics by Philadelphia. The Colts’ offense was the second-highest-rated by PFSN’s OFFi metric in Week 3 after throttling the Tennessee Titans. If it wants to take this one, the Rams’ defense must be on its game.
Rams fans should be excited, though, as the team is hanging with the best of the best and looks to be poised for a playoff run. Adams should be on the field on Sunday, and the Rams will have a complete set of weapons on deck in Week 4.
