Washington could be without its top receiver this weekend as Terry McLaurin is sounding doubtful for Sunday’s Week 4 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. The seventh-year receiver injured his quad in a 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3, and his status for Week 4 is still uncertain.

That means sophomore wideout Luke McCaffery may get his biggest opportunity yet as Washington looks for answers in the passing game.

McCaffery is coming off his best outing of the season, hauling in three passes for 56 yards and scoring his first career touchdown vs. the Raiders.

That performance followed a quieter Week 2, where he caught just one pass for 19 yards in the loss to Green Bay.

In fact, Sunday’s win over the Raiders tied McCaffery’s career high in catches and set a new career high in receiving yards, surpassing his three-catch, 44-yard performance against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3 of 2024.

With McLaurin potentially sidelined, Washington’s signal caller — whether it’s Jayden Daniels or Marcus Mariota — will need to look McCaffery’s way more often, which could make him a key factor against a Falcons secondary that has been stingy through the first three weeks.
