Week four of the 2025 NFL season is here and with it comes a few big games. There are a ton of ex-Bama players around the league set to have big weeks and bounce back performances. Let’s break down their games.
Eagles at Buccaneers – Sun. Sept. 28 (Noon ct):
Jalen Hurts (Eagles) – Coming off a huge comeback win with a 3-0 start to the season, Hurts looks to go on the road against a tough NFC opponent that is also 3-0. The Bucs have a great defense and their offense is clicking. This looks to be hard fought a lower scoring game where defense shines. If Hurts can keep the turnovers to a minimum, or have none, then they should be in prime shape to win the game. I would expect a more pass heavy attack from the Eagles as well.
DeVonta Smith (Eagles) – having a great game last week himself where he found the end-zone, expect Smitty to have another good game. Brown will see most of the attention from the defensive backfield, leaving him open to move the chains and make plays over the middle.
Browns at Lions – Sun. Sept. 28 (Noon ct.):
Jerry Jeudy (Browns) – This Lions defense can be got through the air, but that implies that Flacco is given time to distribute the football, and the Lions pass rush is no joke. Jeudy should have plenty of opportunities to be able to make plays down the field. His target share and volume is there, so a big game is possible here for him.
Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions) – Coming off his biggest game of the season, Gibbs might have a tougher day here against a very good run defense for the Browns. He will most likely be utilized more in the passing game in this one.
Jameson Williams (Lions) – This is an interesting matchup for Williams. The Browns have a solid defensive backfield, but with most of the focus going to St. Brown, I would watch to see him be a major player over the top to stretch the field for the Lions. With this offense clicking on all cylinders, and them spreading the wealth, Williams should have plenty of opportunities to make big plays.
Ravens at Chiefs – Sun. Sept. 28 (3:25 ct.):Â
Derrick Henry (Ravens) – Coming off a rough game, and three straight weeks with a fumble, Henry is determined to set the record straight and clean up his game. Expect Henry to run hard and with a mission in this one. No fumbles for Henry this week, and the Ravens should be able to hand the Chiefs an 0-4 start.
Notable Players to watch:Â
Calvin Ridley (Titans) – He has been having issues with drops, but with Cam Ward dialing up great throws, The chemistry between the two should be able to take care of an inconsistent texans Defense. Look for Ridley to have his best game of the season so far.
Josh Jacobs (Packers) – A return to Dallas for Micah Parsons means a competitive fervor for the Packers that should propel them to bounce back from a tough loss against the Browns last week. This defense for Dallas has issues stopping the run so expect Jacobs to bounce back from a lackluster performance against the Browns.
That does it for the week four outlook. Check back Tuesday to see how these players and teams did this weekend.
