NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Tennessee Titans are not where they want to be three weeks into the season.
The team is 0-3, riding a nine-game losing streak that dates back to last season, so the franchise is making some changes.
Tuesday, head coach Brian Callahan announced he was relinquishing play-calling duties and turning that job over to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree. That same day, Tennessee traded starting cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and a 2026 seventh-round draft pick to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.
The moves come amid recurring and concerning trends for the Titans through three games.
Tennessee has committed a league-leading 31 penalties, allowed a league-high 15 sacks, and is averaging just 17 points per game, good for fifth-worst in the NFL.

Leaders and captains on the team are calling for accountability and improvement, especially from some of the team’s top-dollar, veteran players.
“Our best players need to play better, simple,” Titans captain and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons said. “From every phase of the game, defense, offense and special teams. So that’s what we need to focus on, our best players need to play better.”
Center Lloyd Cushenberry III echoed that sentiment.
“Every one of us feels that way,” Cushenberry said. “We all got to step our game up and look in the mirror. I haven’t played my best ball, and each and every one of us has to step it up and I think we will do that as we continue to move on throughout the season.”
The Titans will visit the Houston Texans, and the original home of the franchise, this Sunday for a 12 noon (CT) kickoff.
