The Denver Broncos currently have 19 candidates for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, and a 20th candidate should join the list later this fall.

Seven former Broncos have been nominated for the Hall of Fame in the senior category — including cornerback Louis Wright and linebacker/defensive lineman Karl Mecklenburg — and 12 ex-Denver players have been nominated in the modern-era category — including wide receiver Rod Smith and center Tom Nalen.

In addition to those players, Mike Shanahan will likely be nominated in the coach category later this fall. Shanahan’s trip to Canton is long overdue, and it might be delayed yet another year if Bill Belichick gets the call in 2026. For now, here’s a look at the players who are being considered for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Broncos Hall of Fame candidates

WR Lionel Taylor (senior)

WR/KR Rick Upchurch (senior)

LB/DL Karl Mecklenburg (senior)

DB Goose Gonsoulin (senior)

DB Dennis Smith (senior)

CB Louis Wright (senior)

DL Neil Smith  (senior)

The list of nominees will be narrowed down to a group of finalists later this year, and the full 2026 Hall of Fame class will be announced before the Super Bowl in February.
