Merrimack, an FCS independent program, squandered a 13-0 lead before coming back to beat visiting Central Connecticut State on Sept. 20 when Carlton Thai capped a 66-yard, seven-play drive with a 19-yard field goal with a second remaining. It was Thai’s third field goal of the game while Aiden Pereira ran for 71 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. The Warriors have two road losses to FBS foes, 21-17 at Kent State and 27-13 at Kennesaw State, while beating visiting Saint Anselm 31-6 on Sept. 6.
Stony Brook made things interesting in its 30-27 loss at Lindenwood on Sept. 20, coming back from a 27-3 deficit before the Lions were able to run the final 4:23 off the clock. Chris Zellous threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns, and Jayce Freeman caught nine balls for 178 yards and a pair of scores. The Seawolves were coming off a 41-18 win at home over Fordham after a 42-0 loss at FBS San Diego State and a 31-17 defeat to then-No. 9 Rhode Island at home in their CAA opener.
This is a great college football matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
