KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens will face off on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. in Kansas City, with both teams looking to avoid starting the year at 1-3.
While Baltimore and KC may appear different on paper or during the game, they share similarities in several areas, like having MVP-caliber quarterbacks and future Hall of Fame head coaches.

Chris Jones heads to Chiefs injury report ahead of Week 4 matchup
Here’s a look at what to watch for in the Chiefs’ Week 4 matchup at Arrowhead Stadium:
Chiefs lead all-time series
The Chiefs have won nine games against the Ravens across their 14 meetings. They’ve met twice in the postseason, in which each team took a game.
The Ravens are sure to have a bad taste in their mouths following the NFL season opener at Arrowhead just last year, where the Ravens lost the game by literal inches.
After the Chiefs finally got their first-ever road win against the New York Giants last week, quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be on guard at Arrowhead in Week 4. He’s never lost to Baltimore while playing at Arrowhead, and only once overall across five games.

Jackson is sure to perform at the highest level in search of his first win in KC, so Mahomes will need to perform as well or better than he has against the Ravens in the past to secure a win. Mahomes’ career stats vs. Baltimore are 13 touchdowns with two interceptions and 344 yards per game for a 115.5 rating.
Which team moves to 1-3?
The Chiefs and Ravens are both currently 1-2, meaning one team will move to 1-3 Sunday afternoon.
The last time the Chiefs were 1-3 was ten years ago in 2015. The same goes for the Ravens as well. Simply put, it would be the worst start to a season in both Mahomes’ and Jackson’s careers.

According to ESPN, since the 14-team playoff format was introduced in 2020, only five teams have made it to the postseason following a 1-3 start. So, it’s not impossible, but if Kansas City wants to make it to a fourth-straight Super Bowl, or the playoffs at all, a Week 4 win vs. Baltimore will help tremendously.

Shared personnel
Like most teams, there are a few interesting connections on the rosters and coaching staffs of the Chiefs and Ravens.
Ravens’ Head Coach John Harbaugh was one of four assistants that Andy Reid chose to bring back when he signed on to coach the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999. Harbaugh was the special teams coordinator for the Eagles, and also served as secondary coach in 2007.

Additionally, Harbaugh and Reid make up two of the top three winningest active coaches. Reid is in first place among active coaches with 302 total wins. Harbaugh is third with 186 total wins.
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown also shares some history with the Ravens. He was taken by Baltimore with the 25th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Brown, the first receiver taken off the board in 2019, would go on to three seasons in Baltimore before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. The Chiefs picked the wideout up in 2024, and he re-signed with the team back in March.
