Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with a battle of struggling 0-3 squads in the AFC South as the Tennessee Titans visit the Houston Texans at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.

The Texans came up short in an ugly divisional matchup against the Jaguars last week, falling on the road in a 17-10 setback. Quarterback C.J. Stroud struggled in the contest and concern is beginning to mount as his sophomore slump from last year has carried over this season.

Below, we’ll go over Stroud’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 4.

Fantasy Football analysis: Texans QB C.J. Stroud

Stroud had another poor outing in the loss to the Jags last week, going 25-38 for 204 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Both of those picks came in the fourth quarter with the second one killing the Texans’ attempt to tie the game in the final minute.

Stroud has been a mess through three games, registering 599 passing yards with just two touchdowns and three interceptions. Pro Football Focus has him with a passing grade of 58.3, which ranks 38th out of 47 QB’s this season. The poor advanced metrics don’t stop there as his -12.78 total EPA is the sixth-worst in the league and he’s not pushing the ball down the field efficiently with a success rate of just 40.91%. And that’s not even mentioning how he’s been under duress with a struggling offensive line as he’s already taken eight sacks through three games. Just bad vibes all around.

Start or sit in Week 4?

Sit. The Texans absolutely need this victory against the lowly Titans on Sunday or their season will effectively be over before the month of October even begins. There should be a sense of urgency with Stroud and company and chances are they will come out on top against a team that’s trying to figure things out with a rookie QB. As far as fantasy football is concerned, the QB is averaging just 12.4 fantasy points per fame and I’m avoiding him until he can string together multiple solid weeks. Sit him.
