Check out an expert preview, prediction and pick for the NFL Week 4 game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Week 4’s Sunday Night Football will be personal. The Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers prior to the regular season, and now the two sides will face off in Dallas.

Green Bay looks like a Super Bowl contender early on, while Dallas can’t slow any offense down. It’ll be a welcome home game for Parsons, who will likely want to put on a show for his former team and fans.

The Packers are seven-point favorites and -345 on the moneyline, while the Cowboys are +275 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 47.5 points.

Here’s my prediction and pick for the Week 4 matchup between the Packers and Cowboys.

Packers vs. Cowboys prediction, preview

Green Bay Packers

The Packers were already a playoff team last year, finishing the regular season with an 11-6 record. The team made another leap ahead of the 2025 campaign by acquiring Parsons from the Cowboys. He’s one of the top defenders in the game and immediately makes Green Bay’s defensive unit scary.

The team allows the fewest points and third fewest yards through three weeks. The run defense is stronger, but that’s not to say the pass defense is weak. Both units are excellent and will give the Cowboys trouble.

Green Bay defeated the Lions and Commanders in the first two weeks before dropping a heart-breaking loss to the Browns in Week 3. Cleveland’s defense shined, slowing down the Packers’ offense. That shouldn’t happen against the Cowboys, who have been awful defensively to start the season.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys missed the postseason last year and are on track to do so again. The team fell behind many of the top NFC teams even with Parsons on the roster, but things are vastly different without him.

While Parsons is a fierce defender, this Dallas unit wasn’t good with him last year. The team allowed the second most points and fifth most yards to opponents in 2024. Parsons played 13 games last year, but even he wasn’t enough to slow down opposing offenses.

Unsurprisingly, Dallas isn’t doing well without him. The defense is still struggling and will likely get lit up by Jordan Love on Sunday Night Football. For some context on this Cowboys’ defense, Russell Wilson finished with 450 yards, three touchdowns and one interception on 30-of-41 passes in Week 2 against Dallas. Wilson passed for 168 yards in Week 1 and 160 in Week 3, and was subsequently benched for rookie Jaxson Dart in Week 4.

If Wilson can torch Dallas’ defense, Love should have no issue.

As for the offense, the Cowboys will be without top wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Dak Prescott will need to rely on other receivers while Parsons rushes in for a sack.

Packers vs. Cowboys pick, best bet

There’s not much going in favor of the Cowboys other than home-field advantage. But even that is neutralized because Parsons is returning home. Dallas holds all of the weight after moving on from its star edge in the offseason.

The Cowboys’ defense has been just as bad as last season, and there’s little reason to believe in Prescott with Lamb sidelined. This could get ugly quick.

Packers are seven-point favorites (-105) and the over is set at 47.5 points (-105). Parlaying these together yields value of +256. That’s the play for Week 4’s Sunday Night Football.

Best bet: Packers -7 and Over 47.5 points parlay (+256)
