Woody Marks wasn’t going down without a fight.
The Houston Texans rookie running back deserves his flowers for that.
‘Marks was the backbone of the Texans’ offense en route to a 26-0 victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 4 at NRG Stadium. He picked up a pair of touchdowns, one through the air and another on the ground.

During the fourth quarter, the Texans (1-3) needed some life on offense. After a pair of passes to Nico Collins, C.J. Stroud found the rookie out of USC in the flats, who turned upfield for his first career touchdown reception on the 12-yard scamper.
After Jayden Higgins got in the scoring, Marks wanted more. This time, he bullied past four Titans defenders for an 18-yard score, capping off a promising afternoon and securing the first win of the regular season while avoiding an 0-4 start.
While it might be one of the league’s worst defenses, Marks had a career day, totaling a season-high in carries (17), overall touches (21), offensive snaps (41), receiving yards (50), rushing yards (70) and total touchdowns (2). He also averaged more yards per play than Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb, who finished with 47 yards on 11 attempts.
Do the Texans have a new lead back? Perhaps. Even if Chubb remains the feature runner, the Texans have something cooking with Marks in the backfield.
